Included here the Arabian Peninsula (the world's largest peninsula) also known as Arabia or the Arabian subcontinent. It has not been possible to separate the South Arabian biogeographic zone from the rest of Arabian in terms of endemic plants.
Of the endemic and near endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 568 species in 266 genera and 60 families. There are about 17 endemic or near endemic genera (marked red) but no endemic families.
