Included here is the west Siberian Plain extending from the Urals in the west to the Enisej River in the east. In the north it borders the Arctic biozone, while in the south it extends to the semi-deserts of Kazakhstan and reaches Ust-Kamenogorsk. In the southeast its border passes close to Novosibirsk and Tomsk.
Of the endemic and near endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 386 species in 45 genera and 53 families but no endemic genera.
