Summary
Included here are Atlantic and Gulf states of the United States from New Jersey to Florida and west to southeastern Texas.
Of the endemic and near endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 546 species in 299 genera and 96 families. There are 36 endemic or near endemic genera (marked red). The near endemic genus Stipulicida has a disjunct distribution with Cuba. There are no endemic families but species of the families Cyrillacea and Sarraceniaceae are confined to the Americas. However, this list is still incomplete so further information is required.
