Summary
Included here are the Carpathian Mountains or Carpathians. They form an arc extending for some 1500 km across Central and Eastern Europe, and after the Scandinavian Mountains, represent the second longest range in Europe.
Of the endemic and near endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 485 taxa in 130 genera and 40 families. However, about 100 of these are so-called micro-species in the genera Alchemilla, Rubus, Sorbus and Hieracium. There are no endemic genera but further information may be required.
