Summary
Included here is the Chaco or Gran Chaco and Southern Andean Yungas. Chacoan vegetation covers the vast plains of north-central Argentina, western Paraguay, southeast Bolivia and extends into Brazil along a narrow strip parallel to the River Paraquay in Mato Grosso do Sul.
Of the endemic and near endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 106 species in 72 genera and 35 families. There are 9 endemic genera (marked red) but no endemic families.
