Summary
Included here is Costa Rica - a country in Central America bordered by Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the southeast. In the west it faces the Pacific Ocean and has the Caribbean Sea to the east.
Of the endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 126 species in 80 genera and 35 families. There are 6 endemic genera (marked red) but no endemic families, although the family Brunelliaceae is confined to the neotropics. However, this list is possibly incomplete so further information is required.
