Summary
Included here are the islands of the Gulf of California (also known as the Sea of Cortez or Sea of Cortés or Vermilion Sea). Islands where endemic plants have been recorded include Ángel de la Guarda (AG), Carmen (Ca), Cerralvo (Ce), Coronado (Co), Danzante (D), Monserrat (M), Espíritu Santo (ES), San Diego (SD), San Esteban (SE), San Francisco (SF), San José (SJ), San Lorenzo (SL), San Marcos (SM), San Pedro Nolasco (SP), Santa Catalina (SC), Tiburon (T). Where endemic species have been recorded on several islands this is denoted by SI.
Of the endemic species, sub-species and varieties of vascular plants so far recorded there are about 28 species in 18 genera and 12 families but no endemic genera.
