Summary
Included here are the Maluku Islands (formerly the Moluccas) and Banda Islands. The main islands are Ambon, Buru, Seram and Halmahera, while the Banda Islands are ten small volcanic islands in the Banda Sea about 140 km south of Seram but still part of the Indonesian province of Maluku.
Of the endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 97 species in 53 genera and 34 families. There are three endemic genera (marked red) but no endemic families. However this list is probably incomplete so further information is required.
