Summary
Included here is mainly the Mascarene Archipelago in the Indian Ocean. The main islands include Mauritius, Reunion and Rodriguez. Also included are the islands of Carajos and Cargados.
Of the endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 551 species in 231 genera and 78 families. There are 41 endemic genera but no endemic families.
