Summary
Included here are the islands of New Caledonia, the Loyalty Islands and the Isle of Pines in the southwest Pacific.
Of the endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 793 species in 223 genera and 76 families. There are 94 endemic genera (marked red) and possibly 5 endemic families (Amborellaceae, Austrotaxaceae, Oncothecaceae, Phellinaceae and Strasburgeriaceae). However, there are reported to be about 130 endemic genera and 2500 endemic species so further information is required.
