Summary
Included here is New Zealand (North and South islands), Stewart Island and a multitude of smaller islands.
Of the endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 2018 species in 355 genera and 121 families. There are 50 endemic genera (marked red) but no endemic families. However, Alseuosmiaceae is confined to Australia, New Caledonia and New Zealand, Argophyllaceae is confined to Australia, New Zealand, Lord Howe Island, New Caledonia and Rapa Iti, Pennantiaceae is confined to Australia, Norfolk Island and New Zealand and Xeronemataceae is confined to New Caledonia and New Zealand.
