Summary
Included here southwestern Dahomey, southern Nigeria, western Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, most of Gaban and western Congo.
Of the endemic and near endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 2003 species in 755 genera and 139 families. There are 22 endemic genera (marked red) but no endemic families. However, Achariaceae is confined to southern Africa, Lepidobotryaceae is confined to tropical Africa and Thomandersiaceae is confined to central and west Africa. The Humiriaceae are exclusively neotropical, except for one species found in tropical West Africa.
