Summary
Included here are the granitic Seychelles and the associated low sand cay islands of the Amiranthes situated in the equatorial regions of the Indian Ocean.
Of the endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 100 species in 87 genera and 46 families. There are 9 endemic genera (marked red) but no endemic families. A family orginally thought to be endemic (Medusagynaceae) has now been synonymised with Ochnaceae.
