Summary
Included here is the entire endemic flora of South Africa. It includes all the taxa endemic to the Cape Floristic Kingdom and there are plans to provide a separate list for this zone.
Of the endemic and near endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 3080 species in 531 genera and 75 families. There are about 368 endemic genera (marked red) and 5 endemic families (Bruniaceae, Geissolomataceae, Grubbiaceae, Lanariaceae and Roridulaceae). However, over 6000 species are estimated to be endemic so further information is required.
