Summary
Included here is southwestern Australia including the Darling and Sterling Ranges and the coastal plain from the Edel Peninsula to Point Culver. The endemics listed here mainly relate to Western Australia so some may extend or be confined to areas north and east of this border.
Of the endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 987 species in 178 genera and 45 families. There are 62 endemic or near endemic genera (marked red) and a further 49 genera (in bold) endemic to Australia. However, there appears to be only 1 endemic plant family (the Cephalotaceae) but a further 4 (Anarthriaceae, Byblidaceae, Dasypogonaceae and Ecdeiocoleaceae) are endemic to Australia.
However, since there is estimated to be over 4000 endemic plants and 73 endemic plant genera listed for this biozone this list is far from complete and will be updated as further information becomes available.
