Summary
Included here is most of the Tibetan Plateau. It is bordered by the eastern Pamirs and eastern Hindo Kush Mountains to the west, the Karakorum Range and Himalayas to the south, the Bayan Khara Shan Mountains to the east and the Transalai (Zaalai) Range to the north.
Of the endemic and near endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 97 species in 61 genera and 24 families. There are 4 endemic genera (marked red) but no endemic families. However, this list is incomplete since there are reported to be over 1000 endemic species and up to 30 endemic genera so further information is required.
