Summary
Included here are the Bonin and Volcano islands situated in the eastern Pacific approximately 840 km southeast of Japan. The Bonin Islands are known to the Japanese as the Ogasawara Islands.
Of the endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 160 species in 120 genera and 65 families. There are 2 endemic genera (marked red) but no endemic families.
