Southeastern Chinese BioProvince
This BioProvince (as defined by Armen Takhtajan) comprises the eastern parts of Kwangsi (Jixangxi), Kwantung (Guangdong) apart from the southern tropical zone, but including Hong Kong, the southernmost parts of Hunan and Kiangsi (Guangxi), most of Fukien (Fujian) and adjacent islands, and southern Chekiang (Zhejiang) and adjacent islands. The geology is complex and varied but the area can be generally described as having a monsoon-influenced humid, subtropical climate. The flora comprises a few endemic genera including Dunnia and Latouchea, and numerous endemic species.
